Thomas Derichs has over twenty five years experience in the hospitality industry specialising in feasibilities, acquisitions, Hotel development, operator selections and General Management of hotels, Food and Beverage facilities and other tourism related projects both in Australia and New Zealand.

He has experience in repositioning and establishing Hotels with emphasis on changing and developing cultures within organisations and reviewing structures and processes to maximize revenue performance.

Tom's background has been in reviewing operational infrastructures, undertaking feasibility analysis, design and implementation of facilities and project managing new building developments and refurbishments.

He has a Masters Degree in Business Administration, Diploma in Management, is a registered Real Estate Agent (Qld) and has qualified as a trainer from Destra Corporation LLC Bolder Colorado USA in facilitation and change management skills

His experience includes acquisition and development of Hotels for Stockland Trust Hotel Division, the Saville Hotel Group (Now part of Stella Hospitality) He has also been the General Manager of the Stamford Plaza, Melbourne, the Stamford Plaza, Auckland and the Mantra on Russell Hotel, Melbourne. Tom undertook the feasibility and financial modeling and developed the award winning Sofitel Mansion Hotel & Spa at Werribee Park, a Boutique Hotel, Spa, Vineyard and Winery in Victoria, now Lancemore.

Tom was involved from the outset from winning the successful tender from Parks Victoria to redevelop and refurbish this historical property requiring extensive consultation with Heritage Victoria, the National Trust and Government bodies.

The Sebel hotel, spa and residences in Launceston Tasmania, Tom was an integral part of the overall acquisition, design, development, sales of 35 strata titled apartments and subsequent operator selection of this 4.5 star facility and remains as owner representative for this property. Tom was involved in the purchase and subsequent redevelopment of Comme kitchen and bar incorporating commercial tenancies and a stylish food and beverage facility in Melbourne Victoria.

Tom also worked with the Reed Property group with direct responsibility for assessing and advising in the strategic direction restructure and subsequent divestment of the Reed hospitality division and was retained by Reed to facilitate the sale of the Crowne Plaza Golf resort and Spa and remaining strata titled apartments.

Tom recently completed the operational requirements and design of a 115 key hotel development in Mackay Queensland, undertook an operator selection process and subsequently negotiated a lease back arrangement with a prominent operator at an above market rate per room.

Tom has extensive experience in establishing management rights, body corporate structures, letting agreements and strata titles to ensure developments have the appropriate infrastructure in place.
